Jeju free attraction — Jeju Fairy Tale Village

I visited Jeju for the third time, and this time I unexpectedly found a brand-new hidden gem! The whole park is very large, the scenery is not only beautiful, there are lots of picture-perfect and fun corners to explore, you can stroll and wander all day without getting bored. It's perfect for family trips or couple dates, you're bound to fall in love with it on your first visit, and I just have to recommend that everyone add it to their itinerary!
Address: Jeju Fairy Tale Village - Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Jeju City, Gujwa-eup, Bijarim-ro 1191 (Jeju Fairy Tale Village)
Business hours: Daily 9:00-20:00 (actual hours subject to on-site notices)

The weather was great today, and I spotted the Jeju Fairy Tale Village on the map. I looked it up online and found out it’s actually free! The park is so big with so much to see, and it doesn’t cost a thing. At first I was drawn in by photos of Totoro (Doodoo-ryong) I saw online, but in person the whole site is spectacular, even more impressive than Totoro, so I took a bus for about two hours and finally arrived!
Free Jeju Fairy Tale Village attraction, the area is very large, with the cute Totoro (Doodoo-ryong) house, Starbucks, Paris Baguette, CU, a supermarket, a perfume-making studio, and more, I visited in early April, just in time for cherry blossom season 🌸

Inside there's a whole row of cherry blossoms plus a small flowing waterfall, together they feel like they could rival Jinhae in Busan (?

There’s also an adorable little train inside that looks very well maintained, so it’s probably taken good care of. Adults are KRW 6,000, children KRW 5,000, and it goes around the whole park (the park is really big). Many Koreans take their kids on it, and going through the cherry blossom tunnel is super romantic and beautiful. Too bad we were short on time today so we didn’t ride it.
I got here by bus this time, but I recommend self-drive since it’s more convenient, the parking area inside is very large so you won’t have trouble finding a spot, and there are nearby attractions like Hallasan and Jeju National University that you can add to your itinerary 🚗
If you take the bus, you can get off at the main entrance 'Songdang Fairy Village' or at Daechon Bus Stop, about a 10-minute walk away, where you can catch an express bus. The express bus goes to Jeju Airport and is pretty convenient, but since I wasn't staying near Jeju Airport this time, it took me a very long time...

You can probably stay inside for about 2 to 3 hours. If you just sit at Starbucks and slowly enjoy the scenery, you might end up spending the whole afternoon there. The Starbucks exterior is very distinctive, it feels like an architect specially designed a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, letting you look out at the park’s small waterfall, cherry blossoms, and rocks, which is especially relaxing. The Totoro (Doodoo-ryong) house isn’t big, but there’s a large Totoro (Doodoo-ryong) and a Totoro photo-op bus that make great pictures!
Right across from the main gate, less than a minute away, there's a very pretty café. I didn't go in this time, but the map shows camellias and hydrangeas, so it's very beautiful during blooming season. I didn't have time to go inside today, but from the outside it looks very spacious, and it should be as photogenic as the Fairy Tale Village.

From afar you can tell the space was thoughtfully planned, the garden-style layout paired with seasonal flowers makes it feel like a different scene every time of year. There are walking paths and photo spots around the perimeter, perfect for a slow stroll and snapping pictures as you go, and anyone who loves taking pretty photos will probably never want to stop. Also, this kind of cafe combined with garden views is a real Jeju specialty, every corner has a great atmosphere, so it’s perfect for a lazy afternoon—have a cup of coffee and enjoy the scenery, it’s pure vacation mode.
Overall, the Jeju Fairy Tale Village we discovered this time was a delightful surprise. It’s free, very photogenic, and fun to walk around, and the nearby attractions are high quality too. It’s perfect for a relaxed half-day or full-day plan. Whether you’re with kids, a partner, or friends, it’s a great fit. If you’re heading to Jeju soon, I highly recommend adding this spot to your itinerary, you won’t regret it!
