Seoul trip with children☆1 day course

The season is summer! Due to Corona, I decided to travel to Korea after about 4 years, which I haven't been able to go for a long time!
Before the arrival of midsummer, when the rainy season is over, three generations of families, including four children aged 2 to 6th grade elementary school students, went on a trip together 😊
So, for this trip, we decided to schedule activities that even energetic children will enjoy!
The two points to be careful of are ✌️
One is to be able to go to the destination without transferring, and the other is to choose a tourist spot within the closest possible range 😊
On this day, we decided to use a bus for transportation.
Seoul's transportation fares are divided into three categories: adults, teenagers, and children. For this trip, there are four adults, three elementary school students, and a two-year-old. Since up to three infants under 6 years old can travel for free with each adult, the two-year-old is free 😊
The issue is how to handle elementary school students' transportation fees... It can be solved by either paying in cash or setting up T-money in advance for children, but this time we will take a different approach 🤭
Actually, with one T-money card, multiple people can ride ✨ Just let the driver know the number of passengers for each section when boarding 😁 It's also possible to transfer, so it's a convenient way to travel in groups!
However, please note that the subway transfer discount will no longer be available💦 (Discounts apply when transferring from bus to bus👍)
Recently, there are more buses that cannot accept cash payments, so I think it's not a bad idea for those considering traveling with children to know about it 😉
After resolving the transportation fee issue, the next step is deciding the order in which to visit the tourist spots...
Since our accommodation was in the northern part of Seoul, we decided to start exploring from nearby places, and the first place we headed to by bus was the 'National Children's Science Museum'👍 We took the bus, but if you go by subway, the nearest station is 'Hyehwa Station' on Line 4🚇
Next to this facility is 'Changgyeong Palace', and next to that is the ancient palace called 'Changdeok Palace', as well as 'University Road' and 'Confucian Shrine' located within the grounds of Sungkyunkwan University, all within walking distance. While children are exploring the science museum, it is also recommended for adults to visit these places!

This National Children's Science Museum offers a low entrance fee of 2,000 won for adults (about $2) and 1,000 won for children (about $1), which is a delightful point 😊
If you have a South Korean mobile phone number, you can make a reservation online from 7 days ago, but you can also purchase same-day tickets.
Additionally, there are separate charges for the planetarium and 4D images♪ (Korean only)
Even though I didn't understand the words, I watched both the visuals and enjoyed them, but the kids still said, 'I don't understand what they're saying' 😅
It may be enjoyable for infants to watch videos, but please note that planetariums have age restrictions of 4 years and older, and 4D movies require a minimum height of 110cm. 💦
You can be fully satisfied just by visiting the permanent exhibition corner of the Science Museum 😁

This block contains a magnet, so it sticks together as soon as you get close. My niece, who just turned 2 years old, was able to play with it skillfully 😆

Dinosaurs are realistically reproduced, and sometimes they move or make sounds, so you can just watch them from a distance... 😂

The race against animals and dinosaurs was quite popular, and the children challenged it many times 😁

There are also various types of experience corners, so adults and children had a fun time together👍
Also, this facility is indoors so it is not affected by the weather, which is another recommended point 😊

After painting your favorite color yourself and setting it to the machine, the creature moves in 3D 😊 As expected, it looks better when you paint the color firmly 👍
After playing plenty in the science museum in the morning, we moved to a street called 'University Road' located about a 5-minute walk away to have lunch 🐾 University Road, as the name of the street suggests, has several universities around it, so there are many stores geared towards young people 😊 It is also famous as a theater district, with plenty of theaters around!
On this day, we decided to have lunch at a chain restaurant that is recommended for families with children, with plenty of menu options that are not spicy 😋

Adults choose Korean dishes such as tteokbokki and bibimbap, while children choose omurice, tonkatsu, and fried rice, and eat them all up 😁. While I do want the children to try Korean food, even if they are used to eating these dishes regularly, the ingredients and flavors used in Japan and Korea can be different, so I think it's important for them to have that experience 😊.
After eating, we headed to the Tanfuru store next door 😋 It's a popular sweets shop lately, with a surprisingly rapid increase in the number of stores! My niece wanted to eat strawberries, but unfortunately they weren't being sold because it was summer 💦

After filling our stomachs, we took a bus to the next destination, 'Insadong' 🚌 There were five different buses to Insadong, so we didn't have to wait long at the bus stop, and the ride was about 10 minutes, arriving at Insadong in no time 😊
This time, since it's a family trip, we can't miss the Hanbok experience!

However, since it was summer, it would be hot and difficult for the children to walk outside in hanbok, and we didn't want them to get their hanbok dirty or lose their accessories outside... so we decided to have the experience indoors only 😅
Girls happily wear it, but boys seemed embarrassed and wanted to take off their hanbok right away, so I thought it was a good choice to make it an indoor experience 😅 My 2-year-old niece, who was taking a nap after lunch, woke up at just the right time and changed into her outfit♪
After successfully finishing the commemorative photo shoot, we strolled around Insa-dong and bought souvenirs... 🐾

Insa-dong was a street with mainly traditional goods and products, but recently there have been more shops targeting young people 😲 Whether it's because of the new buildings and stores that have been added, the atmosphere of Insa-dong has changed quite a bit compared to before COVID, I thought🙂
Children seemed to really like the toy that was being sold for 1,000 won (about 110 yen) each, and they played with it for a long time. 😂 It's a simple mechanism where the paper stretches when swung down with force, but it's so interesting that they keep doing it over and over again. 😁

Taking a break after walking and getting hot 😊 Chose PINS for snacks on this day 😋 PINS is definitely the best for summer, right?♪

We ordered four pins with 8 people 🎵 It's nice to be able to share various types when there are many people 🤭
On a hot day, eating shaved ice is truly delicious and irresistible!😋
Eating Pints was also one of the purposes of the trip, so it was successfully achieved👍
After taking a good rest, we took a bus to the park on the mountain, which was the last destination of the day 🚌
At this point, it was already before 5 o'clock in the afternoon, but since the park is near our accommodation, we didn't have to worry about getting back♪
Korea has parks with free training equipment installed in various places, so I think it's wonderful! ✨ (I thought it was only in Seoul, but I was surprised to see it installed even in less populated areas 😮) I hope they will be installed in parks in Japan as well... 😳

It's easy to enjoy exercise casually while you're out, so I often use it when I've eaten too much on a trip 🤭
The schedule we put together this time was mainly for the children, and it was a day of great satisfaction with plenty of physical activity♪ When traveling with children, it is often difficult to plan ahead, such as places to play (where children can blow off steam) and nap times, but it is a different experience and memories from traveling with adults only, so we are thinking of going on a trip to Seoul again with everyone😊I wonder what season we should travel next time~...
For now, it is important to minimize outdoor activities and take frequent breaks during your summer trip👍
