Smile pro

This time I had SMILE Pro surgery at Myungmok Eye Clinic in Korea — something I had been looking forward to and was a little nervous about. From the moment I stepped into the clinic to the recovery period after the surgery, I felt very well taken care of, so I want to record my full experience and share it with anyone considering laser eye surgery.

First, the clinic’s environment made a very positive impression on me — it was clean and bright, and the overall layout and flow were very well organized. After checking in, a dedicated translator accompanied me throughout the entire process, helping with consultations, examinations, and signing documents. She was very warm and not only professional but also proactively confirmed whether I understood the doctor’s explanations, which kept me from feeling anxious in an unfamiliar language environment. For me, this was a major plus.

Next were the preoperative examinations; the equipment looked very modern, and the staff moved efficiently and explained everything clearly. Even though there were many tests and they took a long time, the staff remained patient and reminded me of the purpose and precautions for each step, which greatly reduced my anxiety before the surgery.

After formally entering the operating room, I couldn’t help feeling a bit nervous. What left a strong impression on me, however, was that during the procedure a staff member would gently tap my leg to softly remind me “don’t be afraid” and “you’re doing great.” Those small gestures really made me feel cared for and understood, and they quickly calmed me down. The surgery itself was actually very quick — I didn’t even have time to think much before my eyes were already finished. There was no pain and no discomfort, only a mild sense of pressure, which was much easier than I had imagined.

While resting after the procedure, the hospital staff carefully explained the precautions, how to apply the eye drops, and the possible changes in vision recovery. I originally thought I would feel stinging or tearing, but in fact I had no discomfort at all. My vision was a bit blurry, but it was an expected normal reaction and not bothersome. Compared to my original worries, it was much better.

Even after leaving the facility, my first thought was, 'It was truly worth it.' From the smoothness of the process and the professionalism of the medical team to the comfort during the procedure itself, the overall experience exceeded my expectations. Especially the translator's companionship and attentiveness, which allowed me to relax and focus on the surgery without worrying about language barriers; and the hand that gently tapped my leg in the operating room gave me great strength at the most tense moments.

Looking back, deciding to have SMILE Pro was a brave step for me, and the team made that step feel very reassuring and worthwhile. Now I only look forward to my vision gradually becoming clearer, and I will follow the instructions to use my eye drops and rest. I am truly very grateful to every medical staff member who contributed to making it possible to have this surgery in Korea and to have such a comfortable experience.

If someone close to me wants to get laser vision correction in the future, I would definitely recommend this place without hesitation. Professional, attentive, and caring — you can feel it in every way. This experience not only improved my eyesight, but also allowed me to accomplish an important thing while abroad, and I was deeply moved by the outcome.
