Last year, my friends and I kept talking about getting laser eye surgery, but I never made up my mind.
Through Creatrip, which collaborates with Bright Eye Clinic in Korea, I joined a consultation session held in Taiwan to learn more—and I immediately booked an appointment! (Rescheduling is free up to 3 days before the appointment.)
📍 The clinic is right next to the subway station, super convenient!
👩‍⚕️ The pre-surgery examinations were more thorough than in Taiwan. The optometrist was very attentive, and the doctor’s evaluation was also very careful.
Since I have high myopia and strong astigmatism, I thought I could only go for the super expensive implantable lens surgery (about 2–3 times the cost of laser 😭). But the doctor evaluated me and said I could still do laser surgery—what a relief! Both my eyesight and my wallet were saved!
Because of the astigmatism and my expectations, I went with the doctor’s recommendation for SMILE Pro surgery.
During the procedure, a translator stayed by my side. After the surgery, the clinic provided a big bag of aftercare products and detailed post-op instructions that I could bring back to Taiwan.
Right after the surgery, I felt a bit dizzy and sensitive to light. My eyes were dry and slightly sore, kind of like wearing contact lenses for more than 12 hours. But with the prescribed eye drops and artificial tears, the discomfort was manageable. By the evening, the dizziness was much better, and I even managed to walk around and do a little shopping. 🛒
The next day at the follow-up check, since my vision was still a bit blurry, the doctor spent extra time examining my eyes. Now, apart from some dryness and light sensitivity, my vision is already clear with no major issues!
