Jeju Island Accommodation Recommendation: Kumho Resort

For this trip to Jeju Island, I specially chose to stay at 'Kumho Resort.' Honestly, when I first saw the exterior of the building, I thought, 'Ah~ I'm really on vacation.' The whole building is bright and white, and there are many palm trees around, so relaxing!
The resort is located in Namwon, Seogwipo, offering a peaceful retreat in a lively area. It's very convenient if you drive, and there are small attractions nearby like the Citrus Museum and Halla Arboretum that fit well into your itinerary. If you're driving yourself, it's really hassle-free. However, if you don't have a car, going out for dinner at night might be a bit troublesome since restaurants in the area aren't very concentrated. But honestly, the facilities inside the resort are already very complete, so it's totally fine if you don't feel like going out.

I think the room was pretty great. I booked a room with a kitchen. Inside, there was a refrigerator, pots and pans, dishes, and all the basic kitchen utensils—just like being at home. One day, I was too lazy to go out, so I just bought some ingredients at the convenience store and made a simple stir-fry and instant noodles. It actually gave me a sense of happiness, like 'living in another place.' If you're bringing kids or elders, this is definitely a big plus. The room itself isn't exactly new, but it's totally clean and tidy. The space is big, with separate areas for the living room, bedroom, and bathroom, so you’re not cramped together. A small downside is that the soundproofing is just average; sometimes you can hear the neighbors or people upstairs, but it doesn’t affect sleep.

Speaking of breakfast, I think the buffet breakfast here is pretty good, with quite a lot of options. There are both Western and Korean styles, and everything you need like porridge, hot soup, salad, and bread. For a resort breakfast, I think it's very sincere. There are also convenience stores and a donut shop.

In terms of facilities, the pool is a paradise for kids. There are both indoor and outdoor pools here, as well as water slides and a children's pool, so parents can feel at ease letting their kids burn off energy. I saw so many kids playing that they didn't want to leave, and parents had that 'please save me' look on their faces (lol). Besides the pool, there is also a sauna, massage room, convenience store, café, and even karaoke and a game area. It's really a place where 'you can have fun all day without even going outside.'

If you enjoy looking at scenery, I highly recommend booking an ocean view room. During the day, you can open the curtains and see the sea, and at night you can sit on the balcony and feel the breeze—it's so relaxing. Another great thing about the resort is that it's very close to Jeju’s Olle Trail, so you can go for a walk just by stepping outside. Taking a stroll in the early morning or at dusk, the air is fresh and comfortable, and you feel more connected to the island.

If you want to plan a short trip, you can drive to popular Jeju attractions like Jeongbang Waterfall and Seongsan Ilchulbong in about 20 to 30 minutes. For example, I planned a day trip to Jeongbang Waterfall and went straight back to the resort to rest afterward—it was a perfect itinerary.

After staying here for a few days, I think Jinh Lake Resort is really great for families or a group of friends. The rooms are spacious and you can cook, and there are so many facilities that you could easily spend the whole day inside. The environment is clean, the scenery is beautiful, and the price isn't unreasonable, so it's a really high value-for-money choice. Of course, if you care a lot about service details or are looking for a super luxurious experience, this place might not be at that level, but if you just want something relaxing, convenient, and practical, it's definitely enough.
My three favorite things: First is the abalone porridge and hazelnut cream cheese at breakfast; second is the presence of the kitchen in the room, which gives me a feeling of 'living in Jeju'; and third is the vacation vibe brought by the pool—seeing the kids have so much fun and the adults completely relax.

If I have another chance to come to Jeju Island, I will probably stay here again. It's not because it's the most luxurious, but because it truly gives you a 'vacation' feeling. For me, that's enough.
