A Wonderful Afternoon in Jeju Island: A Short Trip to the Osulloc Green Tea Fields

On this trip to Jeju Island, the kids recommended that I absolutely visit one place: the Osulloc Green Tea Farm. They said it's not just a tea farm—there's also a museum and a café where you can sit down for afternoon tea and desserts, and you can buy all kinds of tea gifts. After hearing that, I was really looking forward to it, because I often make tea at home, and just thinking about seeing a vast tea plantation made me feel very relaxed.
In addition to the tea fields, the park also has an exhibition hall that introduces the history of Korean tea and the tea-making process. Although there is a lot of information, some interactive designs make the visit interesting rather than boring, giving me a feeling of learning while having fun. Even though I'm older, seeing young people having a great time makes me feel that this place is perfect for the whole family to visit together.

But what attracts me the most is still the afternoon tea at the café. When I walked in, my eyes were immediately drawn to a whole row of cakes and drinks in the display case. The colors were beautiful, and everything looked clean and delicate. I’m not usually a big fan of sweets, but with so many choices, I just couldn’t resist. In the end, I ordered an orange smoothie with a small scoop of ice cream on top, plus a slice of dried orange as decoration—it looked really appealing. For desserts, I chose a matcha mille crepe cake and a strawberry matcha mousse cake.
That glass of orange smoothie really impressed me. Jeju Island's oranges are already famous, and when made into a smoothie, it tastes sweet and tangy, very refreshing. With the creamy flavor of the ice cream, it's especially perfect for summer. Just one sip made me feel completely cooled off—no wonder everyone recommends it.
The appearance of the strawberry matcha mousse cake is pink and cute, and it feels like young girls would definitely love it. When you cut it open, there are three layers: the bottom is a crunchy cookie, the middle is matcha mousse, and the top is strawberry mousse. The slight bitterness of the matcha blends with the fragrant sweetness of the strawberry, creating a unique flavor that isn't overwhelming. I originally thought I might not be able to finish it, but I ended up taking bite after bite and finished it very quickly.

After eating and drinking our fill, we went to browse the souvenir section. I have to say, Osulloc really has a lot of products, from all kinds of tea leaves to tea powders and tea snacks—a full variety. There are also products in collaboration with Hello Kitty, and the packaging is super cute. When my daughter saw the photos, she immediately said she wants to come next time. In the end, I bought a few boxes of tea leaves, some tea snacks, and a few souvenirs that friends asked me to bring back. When I walked out, I was carrying several bags. Although my wallet was a bit lighter, thinking about how happy my family and friends would be to receive them made it all worth it.
Looking back at the tea plantation, I feel that this place is not just a spot for taking photos, but a place where you can truly experience tea culture and enjoy life at the same time. Here, you can learn about tea, or simply sit down to have a drink and a piece of cake, enjoying a leisurely time of your own.
This trip, Osulloc Green Tea Garden left a deep impression on me. For me, the best moment was sitting by the window, looking at the lush greenery and flowers, with a piece of matcha cake and a refreshing drink by my side. At that moment, I truly felt happy. Traveling doesn’t always have to be packed with activities; sometimes, slowing down a bit lets you really appreciate the beauty of a place. If I have the chance to visit Jeju Island again, I will definitely come back, because I believe each season brings a different view to the tea garden.
