Gyeongju Day Trip

Today we are going to introduce Gyeongju tourism. The tourist attractions in Gyeongju are actually quite concentrated. You can visit most of the famous attractions in about one day or one and a half days. Moreover, the buses in Gyeongju stop at many tourist spots, so it's quite convenient. My friends and I went during the Korean Mid-Autumn Festival holiday (10/2).
We first went to Cheomseongdae Observatory, Gyeongju Pink Muhly Grass. Both attractions are actually right next to each other. From the Pink Muhly Grass, you can see the Cheomseongdae Observatory. We were lucky to visit when the flowers were in bloom. Although they weren't very red, I still thought they were beautiful. However, there were a lot of people, probably because it was a long weekend!

The weather is super nice~~

Then we went to Daereungwon (Gyeongju National Park), where there is a popular photo spot, but there were a lot of people in line, so we had to give up and find another place to take pictures, which was a bit disappointing.
Near these attractions, there is a place called Hwangri-dan-gil (황리단길), where you can rent Hanbok (traditional Korean clothing). Some people rent Hanbok to take photos at various attractions.

Next is Donggung and Wolji, here you have to buy a ticket to enter (₩3000), there will be someone at the entrance to help you buy the ticket. Originally saw the night view of Donggung and Wolji on the internet and it looked beautiful, so I was looking forward to it, but after actually going in, it didn't seem as nice as I imagined. Maybe it's more beautiful at night? But my friend and I took a lot of photos to make it worth the price of the ticket.

The place we chose to view the night scenery is the Moon Jing Bridge (월정교). In fact, all the attractions mentioned above can be seen at night, but it is impossible to visit all the places at night, so we have to make choices~~

The Moon Jing Bridge at night is really beautiful~~ but the weather is a little cold, oh

Finally, here is the night view of the Zhanxing Platform. The Zhanxing Platform is really beautiful at night. We happened to pass by the Zhanxing Platform on our way to catch the bus, so we had to run on the road to take pictures. There were also many people taking pictures at the Zhanxing Platform at night.

As for souvenirs, you can see something called Gyeongju bread (경주빵) everywhere on Gyeongju Road. It's actually something like a mooncake with red bean filling inside a thin crust. The crust is thin, the filling is generous, and the red bean filling is not too sweet. But I don't think there's anything particularly special about it, so I didn't buy any. If you want to give it a try, you can have a taste.
Also, there is another more remote photo spot called Pumun Colosseum (보문콜로세움). The location is quite secluded, but because I saw people taking photos here online and we have plenty of time, I thought we could go. However, if time is limited, there is no need to specifically come here unless you really like Roman architecture.

I think Gyeongju is suitable for light travel, and it is suitable to bring elders and children. If you are in Busan or Daegu, you can plan to spend a day in Gyeongju.
