My TOP 3 places in Seoul

As someone who has spent a month in Korea in 2023 and 2024, and plans on coming back soon, I will write about my very favorite spots that are a must to see.
Firstly, Roof Cat Me Cat Cafe (particularly the Myeongdong branch) which was avaliable to book at Creatrip for cheaper - it is undoubtedly my favorite place in Seoul. I visited multiple times, and I plan on going again. Every cat lover (or just pet lover) needs to go. The place looked very modern, I was greeted by the kindest staff what was ready to help at all times. There was a room with adorable pink cat slippers. Once put on, I could walk in - I was truly impressed by decorations and all the details that are supposed to make it look like a cat hotel. They offer unlimited beverages and so I have had peach teas, both with milk and without, but there was also a wide selection of coffees, and when I tried one, it was SO delicious… Those drinks were top tier. Then for a small fee I bought a cat treat and all the cats would come to me. I managed to take many pictures with my friend and to pet the kitties and even have them sit on my lap. I would spent the whole 3 hours there just sitting, relaxing (since adorable and soft music plays there, it is very soothing) and playing with cats and it would be still very hard to leave. It has been a year since my trip and I tear up looking at my videos and pictures from the cafe. I am so excited to go again soon!

Secondly, the Seoul Forest - for a nature lover and anyone looking for some peaceful, relaxing time, it is a must. Seoul Forest is a gorgeous area, filled with nature, fountain, bridges, flowers. During my first trip, I have had a picnic in there with many Korean snacks. It was a wonderful experience, there were people walking their dogs and families, but no one was loud, it was pleasant for everyone. On my second trip, I have spent a whole day in there just laying down on reclining bench, reading a book and taking short breaks to walk around to see the forest or river. It is extremely therapeutic. There is also an amazing cafe nearby to cool down and have a drink - Teddy’s Oven. It is a popular, extremely aesthetic cafe with amazing food. I have gotten a milk tea and some cookies - everything was so tasteful, I could not get enough - I am certainly going to revisit those spots soon.

Thirdly and lastly, another park, but something that I believe is not as known to tourists, and for me, it was a random discovery - Ilsan Lake Park. It took me around an hour to get there by bus from my hotel in Sinchon, which is not bad at all. I have not seen any tourists in that area, and it is truly a hidden gem.
There is a huge lake with fountains, many decorations like bridges and stones, there are even koi fish! And some interesting, historical decorations. There is a convenience store in there that saved me when I got hungry (and had really good curly fries and drink!). I have spent a whole day in there - walking all around exploring, laying down in benches with no one around or reading a book on the bench. The sunset at the end was breathtaking. I believe anyone interested in a relaxing place that is not crowded with tourists should give it a go.

Seoul is filled with amazing spots, but these three – Roof Cat Me Cafe, Seoul Forest, and Ilsan Lake Park – are the ones I carry in my heart. Each gave me a different kind of peace and joy. If you’re visiting Korea, I highly recommend adding them to your list - they are on mine, ready to be enjoyed again!
