Hidden in the alleys of Seoul's Seochon Village, a Korean-style house cafe.

Ximending is located on the west side of Gyeongbokgung Palace (the east side is Samcheong-dong, Bukchon, and Changdeokgung Palace). In addition to the Blue House, the famous Tongin Market, and the Hanok Village, it is also a gathering place for cafes! The most popular cafes in the Ximending and Bukchon areas around Gyeongbokgung Palace are mostly Hanok cafes, and each one is more extravagant and beautiful than the next. So if you come near Gyeongbokgung Palace, be sure to take a stroll in Ximending, have an afternoon tea, and enjoy a small dessert. It will definitely satisfy your travel and relaxation needs!
This time, I want to recommend a Korean-style cafe located in the West Villagetidewater(타이드워터). The atmosphere of this cafe made me fall in love with it, and I have been there more than three times in the past three months... So I must recommend it to those of you who are planning to visit Seoul and are possibly looking for a cafe~

I found this Korean traditional house cafe from a Korean travel promotion account on Instagram, and the cafe we found is located in the alleys of Seomyeon. The location is not difficult to find because it is very close to the main road with many people in Seomyeon (a few steps away is Daewooshojeom, the retro bookstore where IU's album cover was shot).
That day we arrived at the café around one o'clock in the afternoon. At first, we rented the whole place because there was absolutely no one there. The interesting thing is that it wasn't a regular day for us; we came on a Sunday! But later on, more and more groups of people started coming. We really knew how to choose the timing, so while there was still no one around, we took several special photos. Look at the entrance of the café in the picture above, it's really Korean-style, right?

I think this angle above is the most beautiful angle here (if there is a Christmas tree). This photo was taken around December, close to Christmas time. The shop had Christmas tree decorations, which added more atmosphere!

Later, I also saw on Instagram that this place was also filmed for a live performance video by 이무진 (Lee Mo-jin) (sitting in the right position in the photo above), which added more glamour to this place due to the visits of celebrities.
Here are a few photos of the interior of the coffee shop for everyone to enjoy

The interior of the coffee shop is predominantly made of wood and warm colors. Sitting inside gives a complete feeling of relaxation and comfort. Although it is a renovated old Korean traditional house, the overall design is very modern. There is also a faint aroma of wood, and the shop is decorated with incense, enhancing the overall ambiance.

As for its drinks and desserts, the price range is considered medium to high. After all, this Korean-style cafe has a hint of minimalistic luxury in its atmosphere, and most of the drinks come in small portions. We ordered hot chocolate, latte, coffee, and hot tea, and they were all of high quality! Especially the teas, they had a delightful aroma, allowing us to appreciate the effort the cafe puts into their beverages.
Desserts are worth trying out. We ordered an ₩8000 Korean ice cream to eat. The creamy texture is very special, with a mix of different fruits inside, accompanied by chocolate cereal. It's nice to occasionally enjoy it, but if you come often, you might have to bow down to your wallet. For those who are on a short trip to Seoul, of course, you should come and enjoy it, feel the comfort of sitting in a Korean house while having afternoon tea, chatting with friends, and playing with your phone discussing travel plans (at that time, my phone was almost out of battery and the store even helped me charge it XD).
Recommend this popular Hanok cafe hidden in the alleys of Seochon Village to those of you who are planning to visit Seoul! Quickly include it in your itinerary~
