Staying in a hanok is such a wonderful experience. Although the location is tucked in small alley, but still accessible by walking 10 minutes from Anguk Station. The room and the bathroom are quite small, but very clean. We can try to wear hanbok and also eat korean traditional breakfast which was delicious. Thank you for the warmest smile and help from our host Lucy and Penny to make our stay comfortable.

Kind grandma who also cooks our simple breakfast.
Do not expect to sleep in comfort if you are not used to sleeping on the floor with a thin mattress.
Built in toilet is functional, but the sink and cabinet are falling apart needs some maintenance soon.
The entrance is not obvious, google map is not useful hee, use Kakao map which shows the narrow walkway more clearly.

Very small Hanok village. Good location to Changdeokgun Palace & easy excess to Anguk station. There were a smelly from the entrance door & family room are big enough for us. The linen bed very thin & hard to sleep. We missed out our last day breakfast for early check out due to the host couldn't wake up lol.

Before coming to Seoul, we stayed at a hanok in Mokpo and were very satisfied.
I'm sure the Haemil Hanok was once beautiful but didn't get the attention it needed to keep it in good condition. The Korean lady who was there when we arrived was very friendly. Although she couldn't speak English, we managed to check in.
Breakfast was also prepared by her and was Korean style, spicy and unfortunately too spicy for my kids.
It seems that the lady is continuing the business from her daughter. If that's the case, then that explains the situation, because you might be able to run a business like this on your own, but the maintenance is lacking.
Cupboards are broken, seat cushions stained, the hole in the sliding door was only covered by the curtain.
There was no extra pad for the traditional mattresses.
That was very uncomfortable for me because I couldn't see whether the covers for the mat can be washed at all. And also these mattresses were slightly stained.
The common area has things lying around all over the place making it very untidy. For me it was not a place to rest.
After one night at the guesthouse, I decided to move to another place in Seoul for a relaxing time.
