This hotel is located just outside Hahoe village, so a great destination in itself. But there is much more: The hotel consists of several buildings in old Korean style with separate tea houses, all stylishly mingled with modern bathrooms. The whole place, including the breakfast room is a sort of museum of Korean artifacts, collected by the owner, who will give you the background if you ask him The only downside was that the restaurants nearby would close at 18.00, as we came on the low season. Much recommended if you go to Hahoe. And do not misschien the mask dance, it is great fun.

We had the most incredible stay at Rakkojae Hahoe Hanok hotel! Its location is perfect for those wishing to visit the UNESCO listed Hahoe Folk village, being either a 5 minute bus ride or 30 minute walk from the village itself. We were warmly received at check in and the Hanok we stayed in was beautifully designed and spotlessly maintained. The beds (on an ondol floor) were very comfortable and the bed linen felt luxurious and cosy. Despite being near to the Hahoe Village tourist hub, the hotel felt tranquil and the whole experience was quite immersive, as the buildings are designed in a traditional Korean style, complete with period furniture in the rooms. The bathroom was clean and modern and the water pressure was good. The included breakfast was excellent - we had the Korean option which included rice, kimchi, side dishes and beef bulgogi. All in all, this hotel is an excellent choice for those wishing to visit Hahoe and we were well accommodated as western tourists who have limited Korean skills. Honestly one of the highlights of our trip.
