We’ve been coming to Fukuoka regularly for 13 years (except for the two years of Covid) and the city has been overdue in welcoming a new luxe hotel and that spot has been well and securely filled by The Ritz-Carlton Fukuoka for at least some years.
This property is now The Newest, The Best and The Most Luxurious in town, and the No. 2 spot sits quite a distance away too.
From the time you set foot into their front doors you know you stepped into the best, and that continues into their awesome staff as well, from the doormen to the Front Desk, the Concierge Deak and just every team member you run into. Nothing but polished, professional yet warm service with a smile, everywhere you go.
The Buffet Restaurant where Breakfast is served isn’t very large but this is because it isn’t a very large property to begin with, so it’s intimate almost like and in many cases, better than many Executive Lounges I’ve been in. And even though it’s a buffet breakfast there are also a number of items you can order on demand and made a la minute, wonderful.
The rooms.. my goodness the rooms.. ‘standard’ base rooms are already 50 sqm.. that’s HUGE.. and the Premier Suite was over 70 sqm..
Full facilities, heated indoor pool, fully equipped gym.. the list goes on and on.
The best doesn’t come cheap, so the best also means the priciest rates in town, but if you put things in perspective; if this exact same property were planted somewhere in Ginza Tokyo instead, the rate would be twice or thrice as much so everything becomes relative.
We first stayed here in Nov 2023, and then again in May 2024, and will do so again later this year, and already looking forward to it!

In addition to the spacious room, great location and excellent services, every staffs are very helpful and willing to assist, my wife lost her passport and staffs are very helpful to try to figure out and even spent his time when he was off to drop by and check out at the shop that we thought she forgot passport there and finally he got the passport back for her. Thank you so much for your great assistances. Breakfast is superb in term of quality and variety.

We stayed in the hotel during Chinese New Year. This is one of the best hotel we have ever stayed in Japan.
Conveniently located, the Ritz Carlton has unbeatable 5 stars service. The room was almost 450sq feets and we booked the club lounge access. The hotel is very new and all facilities are excellent. Gym is a place we hit everyday. The gym is very large for japanese hotels and its not that crowded.
Basically the club served you breakfast, lunch , afternoon tea and post dinner meals and cocktails. Food are are superb in quality. We had daily breakfast and late night snacks and drinks after dinner. The first day we arrived, the club lounge staff invited us for a valentine's day theme afternoom tea set, while they were helping us to check in our room. So i think if you have the budget, i highly recommend the club access. (We booked late so there were only club access rooms left)
Nothing to complain really for this hotel. I would definitely try other Ritz Carlton hotels next time.

This is a great hotel; the staff is professional and caring. Our room was wonderful and quiet. The Jacuzzi on the top floor was pleasant (and the use was included in our room rate). The food and breakfast buffet was great. In short, we had a wonderful 8-day stay. Now for the particulars:
We loved our suite and the design. Fukuoka is encircled by mountains and the sea. Our suite on the 21st floor gave us a panoramic view as well as the roofs of all of the buildings below the Ritz Carlton. Sanjay and Saida brought us to the suite for check in, a nice touch. When we walked in, there was an entry with a perfect bench for Audre’s cell phone so she wouldn’t forget it. That’s where the second bathroom complete with a Toto toilet was too.
Then came a large living room with mini bar area. The coffee table was laid out with a beautiful tea set and a box with the famous strawberries from Kyushu Island (probably from Saga), sweets and the most delicious kumquats. The next room was the bedroom with Dimitri’s desk followed by the dressing room, another toilet and the master bathroom, with an expansive view.
The light wood, the rugs, the art and the furnishings were very much to our taste. During our stay Radu, the General Manager, visited us at breakfast and that was great fun and very interesting. We were given a butterfly tea by a Senegalese front desk employee and it was a beautiful blue color that turned red/purple with the addition of something. It represented the sunsets from the lobby bar.
The breakfast buffet (included in our room rate) was extensive and very delicious. The French toast was moist in the middle and crisp on the outside—just like we want it to be. The Japanese selections were excellent as was the fruit—including delicious strawberries that really tasted like strawberries.

Currently, One of our most favorite Ritz Carlton branch will be Fukuoka’s! The whole team from arrival to daily greetings really made us feel at home. Remembering our names was a nice touch.
The breakfast spread here was impeccable with a vast selection of food made with very high quality ingredients from all over Japan. The signature mentaiko omelette is a must try!
Next time we would love to sign up for the executive club lounge and enjoy the hotel for the whole day! I would say the whole experience reminds me of modern ryokan but even better!
Note that:
Gym is complimentary
Sauna and Pool might be an extra fee of ~4000JPY if your room does not include them in the rate.
