Tastefully renovated and very clean this hotel provides comfort of a main floor lounge and bar area. The dining area has ample seating and great bre. Coffee and tea are accessible 24 hours.
The only downside might be that the rooms are not very soundproof, I would recommend bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
Please note this hotel is cat friendly. Basel is an adorable and friendly feline that will come and greet you while sitting in the lounge.
This hotel is perfectly situated close to the Rijks Museum, Vondel Park and markets.
There is a 397 bus stop that will take you directly to and from the airport

This hotel has great and very helpful staff, but also staff (who will remain nameless) are not as helpful and/or tend to be outside smoking a lot. Regardless, a big shout-out to Peter and Michelle as they were both wonderful and helpful while we were staying at the Owl. The rooms are on the smaller side (and shockingly smaller than rooms we stayed in within Japan), but if you get a view of the park, it's really nice. Best word to describe the hotel room is functional. You're not there to hang-out, but to shower and sleep. Breakfast is ok and hits what you need, however a Spar and a Albert Heins are very close by so you could easily grab something there for breakfast at a fraction of the cost. Note: there is no fridge in the room. This is a smaller family owned hotel and it's all about value for your dollar. It is categorized as a 3-star, and it's accurate....the next level up from a hostel. Fantastic that there is an elevator and the location is very good if you're wanting to be close to museums and the hub of "bull dog" palace - loads of restaurants and shopping in this area; quite touristy and busy. The hotel is located within a residential area so it is on the quieter and more peaceful side.

Good hotel with good service. Great location, good beds and the interior is good as well. Not brand new but not super old as well. Only thing I dissliked was I had to hand out the hotel keys whenever I leave and ring the bell when coming back. Then you receive the hotel key from the reception. That's unfortunately a no no for me and probably a reason not to revisit even tough I liked the hotel. Please change that owl hotel and I consider to come back.

At the Owl Hotel we were greeted by very friendly staff. Everyone we met there was pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately we did not feel the quality of the establishment matched. The decor was very dated and all fittings and fixtures in the room felt like the lowest cost budget options possible. I'm not sure the extractor in our bathroom worked but if so it was almost completely ineffective. The biggest worry though was that the iron we were given (which was forgotten about when we called reception for one) had broken cable insulation in several places. Giving guests an appliance with live conductors open to them is dangerous and negligent.. In addition to this I found the key card system absolutely baffling. You have to give the reception your card when you leave to go out for the day/evening for "safety". Staff changed through the days and we were never asked to prove it was our room. We just said our room number to reception and the key was handed to us. I feel like anyone could have walked in off the street and at random said our room number to be given the key.
I wish I could give a better review because the staff really were so lovely and the location is great. But in all honesty I would not book here again unless radical changes were made.
