Edit 5/28/20: Just wanted to add that I re-visited this location during my annual trip to Korea in 2020. The facilities were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. There is a coffee shop and other entertainment facilities which makes up for the remoteness of the hotel. There is also a new BBQ grill set up. But the highlight is really the locale. Beautiful, serene, natural scenery with pebbled mountain streams and zen-like atmosphere. I stayed here for a week in February 2019. The owner and staff are very friendly, helpful, and made my stay very enjoyable. The facilities are a little worn, the building is slightly aged, BUT the important thing is that everything was very clean. The linens, towels, blankets were new and fluffy, and very good quality. I slept so comfortably in the bed -- like it was my bed at home. The area is beautiful, peaceful, and quiet. Some might find it very remote and secluded, but that's exactly what I wanted. You have to know what you're looking for -- don't go to a secluded area and then complain that there's no city nearby. In Feb 2019, the new central building opened. This central area contains a coffee shop, karaoke, billiards, and a meeting room. This is a beautiful and modern new addition to an older building -- it shows the owner is still making investments into his property and it will keep improving. For the price, it is excellent value.

Now, we are just before entering Misiryeong after passing Wontong. You can go to the wide valley through an underground passage under the road, but it is too rough to sit comfortably and enjoy the valley water. One stream of water is great! The owner was very kind, as he repeatedly asked me if I should accept the 20,000 won barbecue fee for two people as I went alone.
