If you are looking for accommodation in Namhae check out the American Village! It's less crowded than the German Village and feels like a street in California ;)

This place is not just an area where you can stay. The pension I'm staying is the one shown in the pictures and this area has a great down hill view. You can see farmers working on their fields. It is amazing how well the community has adapted to the land and still use the natural resources to make work it for them.

No, it is not the Namhae Germantown. The story behind this is more along the lines of engineers and tradespeople who liked the American way and wanted to recreate it in their country.

Really not much of a tourist attraction at all, despite the signs for it all over Namhae. The statue of liberty out front, as well as the eagle, make for decent photos, but that's about all there is to do in the American village. If you're expecting it to be similar to Namhae German Village, do not visit. German village has plenty of cafes and restaurants. American village has one cafe, and I did not see any restaurants.

Nothing like what you would expect from tourist attractions but I've seen a few pensions built in American style where you can stay to relax so I guess if that's what you're looking for it should be okay maybe..
