I came here when it’s entering winter season in mid Nov23. It is freezing cold and yet the wooden path trail is still amazing. It feels calm and peaceful when walking here. Occasionally u can met with some hikers and trail runners. To reach here, u can follow the street outside the Seodaemun Museum of National History which quite straightforward.

Multiple entrances, with a choose your own adventure feel: there are many paths varying from wooden boardwalks to paved to dirt trails that will lead you around and to the top of the mountain for sweeping views of Seoul. Follow signs for Beacon Mound for panoramic views!

This nature park centres around a hill which is between 260-280m high. There are numerous paths and trails. Some, like the more level ones circling around the base, are tarmac. Others, which crisscross the interior, are a mix of dirt, rough concrete, stone ie more natural, and softer on the knee and hip joints. Next to some steps are dirt , which is great for avoiding steps. There are also several piped natural springs, from which you can drink using supplied ladels, of, like me, refill your water bottle.
Towards the top, there are great views of Seoul.
Most of the park is shaded, which is great for the hotter times.
There are also several toilets spread around the place, and places with fitness machines, every weighted machines like in the gym.
At the end, I walked down to a nearby train station. There are numerous signs in the park pointing, with distance included, to various train stations.
For people like me, who likes hiking, but rarely had the chance, this was perfect.

If you think that Bukhansan or Cheonggyesan are too challenging for you, but you want to hike for one or two hours somewhere in Seoul, then Ansan Jarakgil is an excellent trail for you! :) It is located in the heart of Seoul, which means it is very easy to go there by bus or subway. Also, as some people pointed out, you can enjoy a great view of Seoul from the top. I personally like to go there in autumn. I just love to see colorful autumn leaves there. :)

Beautiful mountain with well maintain walkway. I planned to exit from Yonsei University but I did not see any signage as described in the review. After the forest stage, there are still sign showing forest stage 1.2km ahead. I walked back and forth to look for the exit, I asked 3 locals there but none of them knew the way. So I end up following the locals going out towards the museum, and took a cab to Hongje station.
