Closest you’ll get to North Korea without crossing the DMZ. Observatory provides a nice panoramic view of the plains, and binoculars are extremely helpful in spotting guard posts, propaganda signs and flags.

Went here in 2018.Facility was just opened recently.State of the art observatory telescope and Patron friendly small telescopes on a separate observation deck. Very isolated location with lots of nature.

Wasn’t able to actually go and see this area because we didn’t realize you have to make reservations with a tour agency to get there. That’s alright though, we drove up to the gate a there were some Korean military guys there that were very nice and gave us some information about where to get tickets. Ticket office closed at 2:30pm so we just missed it lol.

This place run by military and so you really have to listen to their instruction upon visiting. There are no English speakers guides there, but luckily our local friend took us there and explained about the history and important of this place. There are English in the video, but if you want to know more or asked any further question, that will be difficult. Recommend to get on the tramp on the way to observation.

So close yet so far... North Korea to South Korea. Only, 1.8 km of DMZ to separate the 2 counties
