The beach is quite wide, but crowded in summer days. Take not that you can only swim in designated areas and with a life vest, that can be rented at the beach for 10.000 won. Parasols can also be rented. They have shower cabinets outside, costing 3000 won per person, and with no amenities. So make sure to bring shampoo, body wash, etc, and slippers. Because of covid-19, to access the beach people need to check their temperature and call the phone number to register their entrance.

From Gangneung Intercity Bus Terminal, we took the loop bus number 203 and arrived in about 30 minutes. On the sea side was Gyeongpo Beach, and on the other side was Gyeongpo Lake. The weather was nice on the day I visited, and I was able to see the beautiful scenery of the blue sea and white sand beach. There were several resort hotels nearby. There are also rental bicycles and motorcycles available, and I think it is possible to use this as a starting point to go to the surrounding areas such as Chodang Sundubu, Gyeongpodae, and Gangneung Funabashijang. You can go to Gangneung Station by bus number 203, but if the bus is infrequent and the time is not right, you may need to take a taxi.

It's a scenery I miss in this chilly weather with a lot of fine dust. Gangneung, home to delicious seafood, coffee, and cool sea Gyeongpodae Beach
