They got clean beds and they clean the rooms everyday. They do have a locker with an electric lock for each guests in the room. Being close to the bus terminal is a big advantage. The breakfast isn't fancy but overall great.

Excellent location, nice, clean and beautiful space! The staff, a lady and another gentleman, are excellent and beyond friendly! Your right across from the intercity bus terminal which is the stop from dong seoul bus station. The 7-1 bus to seoraksan is right across the street, runs every 15 minutes and takes 45 minutes to an hour to get to the mountain. The shared common space is designed beautifully and great for hanging out with a cold drink after a long day of hiking. They have a small bar that serves tea, coffee, beer and I think some snacks but there are convenience stores on the same block...most people BYOB. I stayed in a shared bunk room and it was more than comfortable for sleeping...each bunk has a light and an outlet, just heads up...turn on the AC so it's less stuffy and crack open your curtain to your bunk a little to get some air. Slept great and the shared bathroom and shower has great hot water, shampoo and conditioner as well as body wash. Bathroom is very clean as everything else was also very clean. Heads up, there are no elevators so you must take the stairs.

New and modern guesthouse right in front of the bus terminal. We saw it when we pulled in and decided to walk in and book a room. It's very clean and the owners are friendly. There's a room to drop your things if you need to wait to check in. Great place to stay.

Relatively equidistant from the beach, traditional market, and Abai town, Haru is a cozy hostel with good service and rooms. The employees' knowledge of tourist attractions and advice helped sway our opinion on what to and not to visit. Language issues may arise but the employees will strive to assist non-native speakers. The one negative I would note is that the bedding may be more firm than us pampered Westerners are used to. Short of that, if you're visiting Sokcho, I can't think of a better hostel to stay.
