Beautiful hidden gems tucked away in a small city; I wouldn't have known about it if I hadn't seen a picture in maps. Admission is 3000 won for adults and while we were there, they were also giving out vouchers for 2000won per person off at local restaurants. A great day trip from Gwangju.

I've been to Gochang once before, but I didn't have a chance to go to fortress. I thought it was just the ruins of a Joseon-era fortification, but it was so much more than that. There is an entire park on the inside where you can have lunch or take a break with friends and family. Joseon-era buildings are also inside. I recommend going early in the day and staying there until lunch or dinner. What a peaceful place to enjoy nature and get away from the city♡♡
