We took free shuttle bus here from Jinbu station. The same shuttle bus goes to yong pyong too. There’s also shuttle bus to and from Seoul and Incheon airport it seems. Part of a charming little resort (with 2 other hotels) that gives vibe of a European alpine town. The reception staff are attentive and tried to provide help, with adequate command of English. Lots of convenience shops and restaurants within resort. Ski slope just at doorstep of accommodation. The room we had was spacious, comfortable and clean. Kitchen is well equipped, towels and bedding are provided. Room temperature was comfortable. Do note there is no toothbrush, hair brush, shampoo, body wash and bedroom slippers. Also no bottled water. But I think it’s fine as we need to cut down on consumables and plastic; we brought our own of these during travel. Only complain is room I got is in different building from reception. So after check in still got to move luggage to another building. Overall had a very enjoyable stay here. :)

Very neat. Huge place! I stayed with 5 others and it was big enough. 4 used beds, 1 used the non-bed room and 1 used the sofa. Huge living room. Two bathrooms. I totally loved it. It was just like an apartment

Pleasant stay. A very nice resort conveniently located just beside the ski & snowboard slopes, this it’s confirmed within their own Alpenski ski resorts mountain slopes corner which makes up around 5 slopes. Casino is permanently closed. It’s a very nice resort, comfortable rooms, I opted for the ones facing the ski slopes with futon bed laid on the floor. Basic furniture (just a table but no chairs, it’s sit and sleep on the floor all the way) but still comfortable and a different kind of experience. Yes, towels and basic necessities are provided by default.

I was very impressed with the size of our 2 bed apartment. Each zone was individually heated. The second bedroom had the traditional Ondol mattress on the floor. We actually didn't use this and ended up using the room as a drying room as it had underfloor heating. The kitchen was fairly basic but functional. The king bed was extremely comfortable. What really let the room down was the attention to detail. We got two small pillows. I asked for two more big pillows and got traditional Ondol ones instead. Eventually I got two more 'normal pillows' then I realised we had no towels apart from more tiny face towels. When I called the front desk she told me regular towels were charged extra.. she did say she wouldn't charge me though. The kitchen had no basic essentials. No tea, coffee, milk. I'm guessing it's geared up for local Koreans. Not international guests. The corridors were horrible, very sterile hospital like. Its not cheap either $350 AUD per night. I would have expected a few extras thrown in. The location is excellent, right at the foot of the slopes. Be very warned though. This resort is very very expensive compared to the next resort 2ks away. The Holiday Inn seems to have the monopoly here and all the local restaurants are twice the price.

Going to share our experience of the Holiday Inn and Suites as I think many people traveling from the U.S. or Europe may be surprised once they arrive here. So the Alpensia has three hotels which are the Intercontinental, Holiday Inn Resort, and Holiday Inn and Suites. They are not the same and are not connected. We stayed in one of the condos for 10 nights which are affiliated with the Holiday Inn and Suites. Check In: Easy enough but be prepared for a difficult language barrier. Many of the staff do not speak any English. Those that do have very limited proficiency. You will be charged the full amount for your stay, not just a hold on your credit card. Room: The room was nice and comfortable. However, the fireplaces do not work and have a note on them that says not to use them. Heated floors were amazing and so was the shower water pressure! Condos have a refrigerator and freezer along with a small burner. No coffee pots unfortunately. Food: Unless you add on breakfast to your room, be prepared to pay a ton. Breakfast here is about 40,000 won per person/ per day. This obviously adds up. Intercontinental breakfast was even more. There is no coffee or tea in the lobby. The Holiday Inn Resort advertises a bakery with fresh bread and coffee but we found that it doesn't open until 11:00 and has anything but fresh baked goods. There are a few restaurants serving Korean food and a Dominoes for pizza. Kloud is a tap house serving their own beer and small bites which was fun. Service: Pretty disappointing. You will get three hand towels per day. There are no full size towels at all unless you pay for them which is ridiculous. Housekeeping is friendly but there is no option to put a do not disturb on your door so don't plan on sleeping in. Laundry: There is no self service laundry on site. The front desk sent someone to our room who took each piece of our dirty laundry and added it up. You are charged between 3,000-6,000 won per item on average. It ended up being about 75,000 won to do our laundry. We ended up taking a taxi to the Ramada hotel for about 15,000 won and did our laundry there in their coin operated laundry room for 6,000 won total. Pretty sad we had to go to a different hotel to do laundry. Travel: Best way to get here is to take train from Seoul to Jinbu station and then take a taxi to the resort. The hotel doesn't have a train schedule so be prepared to figure this out on your own when you leave. A quick google search makes it pretty easy to figure out but I still feel like there should be some sort of schedule available since there are not many other ways to get in or out of here. Overall, we likely won't stay here again. The cost versus the value just isn't there.
