Uiseondang, located on the streets of Incheon's Chinatown, is a temple where the Chinese who first settled here prayed for health and prosperity. However, the architectural style itself did not follow the Buddhist temple style, but rather the Taoist shrine style. And the gods of Taoism stand out more than Buddha.
However, there is also a stone pagoda built in the inner yard, and the first builder of Uiseondang was a monk named Hwang Hap-gyeong, so it is not wrong to see it as a temple.
It would be nice to think of this as a similar structure to our country's hermitages, where indigenous gods and Buddha were worshiped together in the main hall due to space constraints.
At one time, it was used as the headquarters of Jaeghari, a secret society of Chinese living in Seoul and the Gyeongin area, but after its identity was exposed to the Japanese police by a whistle-blower and disbanded in 1934, the secret society was changed to the Dharma Buddhist Church and opened in Geoseondang in Seoul. It is said that the base was changed to .
Afterwards, with the help of donations from overseas Chinese and support from the Chinese government, extensive repairs were made in 2006, giving it its current appearance. You can experience a unique style and unusual interior atmosphere.

It is a place where Chinese immigrants who immigrated to Chinatown prayed for the prosperity of their businesses and the well-being of their families.
