Vast train station servicing multiple metro/intercity lines and surrounded by shopping malls, department stores and restaurants. You could spend a couple days here without getting bored, especially at the nearby Times Square. The train station itself has a rather nostalgic design yet has been regularly revamped with modern facilities like curved LED screens. All in all, great neighbourhood that I’d recommend as a base from which to explore Seoul :)

Busy KTX station. Right next door there's a huge shopping mall.

Easy access to KoRail and Subway Line 1. The only draw back is 1) KTX doesn't service here, so you'll have to go to Yongsan or Seoul Station 2) lot "Christian" folks signing in front of the station all day long 3) at night, lot of homeless folks congregating around the area. Just mind your business and you'll be fine :) They have plenty of dining options, which is nice. Connected to the underground mall but the escalators here are the slowest!
