So to start, I stayed there for 6 days (July 13th - 18th) in the female dormitory in a 4-person room. I was solo and my goal for my trip was to visit my friends, drink, and sightsee.
The guesthouse has a great location! It's 10 minutes from two different train line stations (Eonju and Yeoksam) which was so convenient. Plus it's only like 2 minutes from a CU (convenience store).
It really is like a house and the dormitory for ladies is in the basement which had it's own private access and outdoor area on the side of the house. For privacy, it's nice that it's not connected to the main house so when you're coming back late from a night out you aren't stumbling through a house--the downside is that in order to access the main house, you gotta put on shoes to walk around outside to get to the main house. (This is only a downside if you plan to go to the main house often, which I didn't.) Also, the girls dormitory doesn't have a common area for socializing so most socializing is done between roommates if that's your jam.
Being a female who does spend a healthy amount of time getting ready, I wasn't disappointed with the sinks and counter space in the common area for setting out makeup and hair stuff because there was enough space to not be in anyones way. I would say that the common area is not optimal for doing makeup since it is in a basement and is darker than the rooms (so if you're concerned, bring a small mirror to do makeup in the room.)
Something I really appreciated was that each room has it's own conjoined bathroom. So the only people you share the shower and toilet with are your roommates and you don't have to worry about walking through the hostel in a towel. (The hostel does provide a small face towel and communal hairdryers.) The four person room is cozy but if you plan on going out most of the time, it's no problem. The room has bag storage and an air conditioner so it's an easy place to stay in.
The only complaints I have really had to do more with one of my roommates who was super loud at 5am but that's bound to happen in a shared room. I think next time I will stay in a single room so I don't have to deal with a loud roommate or worry about waking them up when I come back late.
Now, I want to go on a rant about the owner, Mr. Lee.
First off, he is absolutely wonderful and he is the biggest reason why hands-down, I will be going back! Obviously he speaks Korean, but he also speaks Japanese and some English. I talked with him mostly in Japanese since it was more comfortable for both of us (and good practice). So communication was no problem.
But I am his biggest fan because the first day there I had to exchange money and I hadn't gotten a portable wifi so I was trying to figure out where to go using the hostel wifi. And he saw me and asked me about my plans, I told him, and he gave me advice of where to go. Then when he realized I am awful at directions and would certainly get lost, he walked me first to Eonju station to show me where it was, then he walked me to the bank, waited with me, and then helped me exchange the money! Then he walked me back to the station and helped me buy and set up my T-money card. He went totally out of his way to make my time easier.
Throughout the week he'd see me and ask me about my plans or what I've done. Then one night when I was waiting for my friend, Mr. Lee saw me waiting and asked if I wanted him to teach me Korean while I waited. I have always wanted to learn so Mr. Lee helped me with the alphabet and how to write! He also taught me how to yell at my friend in Korean for being late haha
Finally the day before I left, Mr. Lee asked me what time I'd be checking out the next day and I told him around 2 if it was okay and he told me not to rush and to take it easy. When I finally had to leave, he checked with me to make sure I knew where the bus to the airport was and that I had enough money for it.
So sorry for the longest post ever but it was such a good experience that I had to share. 10/10 would stay again!

A nice hostel very close to Yeoksam station. The owner is kind and accommodating. He is usually present in the hostel, so if you need anything you can easily ask him. I would stay there again.

I recommend it. They are friendly and the surrounding environment is good for sightseeing in Gangnam. COEX and Gangnam Station are both close, and there are plenty of restaurants and entertainment companies nearby. It feels like home. I highly recommend it.
There is also a dog kindergarten, and the kids are so cute~

Mr. Lee was so nice and offered help with anything that we needed.
The rooms are quite minimal.
Had a great stay.

Simple place. A bit far from subway (10 min) and city center.
