With expert English commentary, you will learn step by step about the history and architecture woven into the tombs, as well as royal rites and their cultural meaning, and discover the hidden stories and value of the royal tombs that are difficult to experience on a standard visit.

The Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty consist of 40 royal tombs enshrining kings and queens of Joseon and the Korean Empire, and were inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2009. Based on Confucian principles and the concept of feng shui, the royal tombs, ritual spaces, and surrounding natural landscapes were created in harmonious balance. Through royal records, you can explore the history and traditions of the Joseon Dynasty, and even today, ancestral rites continue to be held every year, carrying on their cultural value.
