Gyeongju’s Must-See Attractions, Shown by Course Photos
To help you get a better feel for each spot, we divided the photos into four courses: Bulguksa, Cheomseongdae, Daereungwon, and Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond.
Bulguksa
A UNESCO World Heritage temple where you can see the essence of Silla Buddhist culture. Check out photos of Cheongungyo and Baegungyo Bridges, Dabotap Pagoda, Seokgatap Pagoda, and the temple grounds that transform with the seasons.
Cheomseongdae
An iconic stone structure in Gyeongju, known as an astronomical observation heritage site from the Silla period. With open historical grounds and seasonal scenery, it’s a great spot for those classic “proof-of-trip” photos in Gyeongju.
Daereungwon
A royal tomb park where the burial mounds of Silla kings and nobles are gathered. With gentle hills, walking paths, and the impressive scale of the tumuli, it’s a great place to slowly soak in Gyeongju’s peaceful atmosphere.
Donggung Palace and Wolji Pond
A signature night-view spot where the remains of a Silla royal palace’s secondary residence and its pond still remain. In the daytime, enjoy the calm scenery of the pond and pavilions, after sunset, you can admire the lights reflected on the water.
