Jagunggagyo Season2
Jagunggagyo Season 2 is a Korean historical musical that blends elements of traditional martial arts, singing, and more, as one of the main performances at the Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival.
Plot
In 1795, in front of Hwaseong Palace, Suwon. A grandfather and his granddaughter hold hands tightly as they gather in the street, gazing at the 'light' descending from Hanyang (Seoul). The grandfather is curious about the light of King Jeongjo, the 22nd king of Joseon, and his mother, Lady Hyegyeong (Lady Hong of Hyegyeong Palace). She tells him that they have come to Suwon in the royal carriage for the opening of Jinseondang. In the end, Jeongjo, who arrives in Suwon after a night march led by Jang Yong-yeong, recalls his father, Crown Prince Sado, in the Moonjeong Pavilion of Changgyeong Palace, feeling the pain of the day his father was trapped and lost his life in the backyard. Lady Hyegyeong, just like herself, finds it easy to fall asleep. She also recalls the moment she vowed to stand by her son through life's twists and turns, with tears in her eyes. Jeongjo comforts his mother. Finally, at dawn, a grand Jinseon ceremony is held at Hwaseong Palace in Suwon to celebrate the sixtieth birthday of the grandfather, who has been invited to join the people of Suwon in the most splendid and heartwarming ceremony in the world. King Jeongjo and Queen Hong, who long for the spirit of the missing apostle, see the apostle's soul among the congratulatory crowd and smile joyfully.
