2025 Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang TourㅣExclusive tickets for foreign visitors
A wonderful event for lovers of Korean history and culture. This is a great opportunity to feel like a traveler to Korea during the Joseon era and enjoy ancient desserts in the royal palace. In the very center of the Gyeongbokgung Palace, in an ancient hanok, where feasts were held in ancient times, a table is set for a traditional tea party. All the staff are dressed in ancient clothes, light music is playing. Sitting in the hanok, enjoying tea and a delicious dessert, admiring the views of the hanok, you feel as if you were in ancient Korea of the Joseon era.

2025 Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang TourㅣExclusive tickets for foreign visitors
We participated as a couple.
We had a very elegant time with delicious traditional sweets and tea, beautiful fruit buildings everywhere, and friendly staff (we had a female staff member who spoke good Japanese).
After showing our passports at the reception and confirming our participation, we chose tea and the man guided us to our seats. After that, a woman in charge came to us and explained about Korean sweets and tea, and we also took photos at the right time. We were told that we could look around the other rooms, so we went around and looked at them from the outside. Each room had a different interior, and they were all wonderfully designed.
We were able to apply for this valuable experience in Japanese, and the tickets were sold exclusively to foreigners, so I don't think the price was too expensive.
I hope that tickets like this will be sold again.

2025 Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang TourㅣExclusive tickets for foreign visitors
The palace cafe "Seikabang" was set up for a limited time in the "Seikabang" in a corner of the kitchen of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
This is a happy event where you can enjoy traditional tea and sweets in the palace at the same price as ordering cake and coffee at a Korean cafe.
When you make a reservation, you can choose one main sweet (either Gaeseongchuak or Injeolmi), and I chose my favorite Gaeseongchuak once, but since it was a limited time and I wasn't sure if the next Seikabang opening would coincide with my visit to Korea, I also made a reservation for Injeolmi the next day!
Injeolmi was also very delicious.
Other sweets included walnut jeonggwa, kumquat jeonggwa, plum sparrow, rice crackers, chamae jeonggwa, and dried persimmons stuffed with dates and walnuts. All of them were wonderful.
You choose your tea on the day, but since it was hot, I ordered a slightly sweetened iced Daigocha (제호다, Jehota). The strong, robust tea was delicious, and even after it mixed with the melted ice and changed to a moderate flavor, it still maintained its mellowness and was refreshing and delicious.
Surrounded by the sounds of traditional Korean music played on traditional instruments, it felt like time was passing slowly.
This time, a day was set aside for foreign tourists during the Imperial Court Cultural Celebration, but I hope they will hold it again during the autumn celebration.

2025 Gyeongbokgung Saenggwabang TourㅣExclusive tickets for foreign visitors
I would like to recommend it to everyone from the bottom of my heart! !
"Seikabang" is a limited-time traditional cafe in the palace, located in the Biological Library in a corner of the Gyeongbokgung Palace's Barbecue Kitchen.
When I visited in 2018, I had to make a reservation directly on-site. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has become a reservation system, and foreign tourists could not purchase tickets (although it was listed on the KOREA BUCKET LIST as a one-off),
In 2024, reservations can finally be made on creatrip! Thank you! Even though it is limited-time, I am so happy. And since my date matched, I quickly purchased a ticket.
If you order cake and coffee at a Korean cafe, it would cost about 15,000 won. It was a happy 70 minutes to be able to enjoy traditional tea and sweets in the palace for the same price.
There are seven types of sweets. When making a reservation, you can only choose one of the central sweets (Geseongchuak or Injeolmi). There are six types of tea, and you can choose at the reception on the day. There was a wide variety of teas, so it was difficult to choose.
I selected Geeseongchuak and four-matter tea.
All the sweets were elaborate and elegant. The tea is available in a variety of flavors, both sweet and unsweet, and can be ordered hot or iced. The four-ingredient tea I had was a type that seemed to be good for the body, similar to a traditional Korean herbal medicine.
