COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus is spreading rapidly in Korea and Korean government has raised its virus threat level to the highest of its four levels. The worries about the epidemic is getting high and the number of Korean entrants are drastically falling. 

However, for those of you who are planning a trip to Korea, or who already are travelling we made a list of closed tourist attractions and stores due to Coronavirus. Bookmark this post to not waste time visiting closed shops.


Closed Spots

Seoul

  • National Museum of Korea: Closed until further notice.
  • National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(Deoksugung, Seoul): Closed until further notice.
  • National Folk Museum of Korea: Closed until further notice.
  • National Museum of Korean Contemporary History: Closed until further notice.
  • National Hangeul Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • National Library of Korea: Closed until further notice.
  • Seoul Museum of History: Closed until further notice.
  • Seoul Metropolitan Library: Closed until further notice.
  • Ewha Woman's UniversityAll campus tours are suspended. Entrance through main gate is restricted.
  • MBC WORLD Theme Park: Closed until further notice.
  • Sealala WaterparkClosed until Mar 31st.
  • Brick Campus-Seoul: Closed until further notice.
  • Korean Volleyball League:  No games until further notice.
  • Korean Basketball League: No games until Mar 29th.
  • Korean Football League: Delayed opening until further notice.

Daegu 

  • Daegu City Tour Bus: Closed until further notice.

Busan

  • Gamcheon Culture Village: Closed until further notice.
  • Vaunce Trampoline-BusanClosed until March 8th.
  • Trick Eye Museum-Busan: Closed until further notice.
  • Busan City Tour: Closed until further notice
  • Taejongdae Park: Closed until further notice
  • Nakdonggang Ferry: Closed until further notice
  • BEXCO-Hanbok Experience: Closed until further notice
  • Hwangneyongsan Observatory: Closed until further notice

Gwangju

  • Gwangju National Museum: Closed until further notice.

Chungcheong-do

  • Cheongju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(Cheongju): Closed until further notice.

Gyeonggi-do

  • National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(Gwacheon): Closed until further notice.
  • Onemount Theme ParkClosed until April 2nd.

Gyeongsang-do

  • Buyeo National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Gyeongju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Gongju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Gimhae National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Jinju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Eden Valley Ski Resort: Closed until further notice.
  • Jinhae Gunhangje Cherry Blossom Festival: Canceled.

  • Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Festival: Canceled.

Gangwon-do

  • Chuncheon National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Kangwon Land: closed until March 9th

Jeolla-do

  • Naju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Iksan National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Jeonju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • Gwangyang Maehwa Festival: Canceled.
  • Gurye Sansuyu Festival: Canceled.

Jeju-do

  • Jeju National Museum: Closed until further notice.
  • All spring festivals: Canceled

*Most universities have delayed spring semester by 2 ~ 4 weeks.


Restricted Spots

Seoul

  • Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁):   All official guided tours are suspended until further notice. Self-guided tours are allowed.
  • Changdeokgung Palace (창덕궁):   All official guided tours are suspended until further notice. Self-guided tours are restricted to garden area.
  • Changgyeonggung Palace (창경궁):  All official guided tours are suspended until further notice. Self-guided tours are allowed.
  • Deoksugung Palace (덕수궁): All official guided tours are suspended until further notice. Daehan Empire History Museum and Jungmyeongjeon Hall are closed. Other places are allowed to travel.
  • LOTTE Duty Free Store (Myeongdong, World Tower, COEX, Busan, Jeju) : Operating hours are shortened to 09:30~18:30 
  • Seoul Arts Center: Concerts and exhibitions planned in February are canceled and delayed until March 31st.
  • Vaunce Trampoline-Seoul : Operating hours are shortened to 12:00 - 20:00
  • Children's Grnad Park : Botanical garden, zoo and sport facilities are closed until March 9th.

Busan

  • Woori Dongnae Photo Studio Busan: Hong Kong, Chinese customer's reservation is closed.
  • Busan Tower: Shortened operation hours
  • Busan Duty Free: Shortened operation hours
  • Hanboknam-Busan:  Shortened operation hours

Daegu

  • Woori Dongnae Photo Studio-Daegu: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Chinese customer's reservation is closed.
