November Weather in Korea

November in South Korea marks a noticeable shift into the colder months, with temperatures dropping significantly, especially as the month progresses. While early November can still have mild days with temperatures reaching around 10–15°C (50–59°F), the evenings and early mornings can feel much colder, often dipping below 5°C (41°F). By late November, the cold intensifies, with daytime highs frequently staying below 10°C (50°F) and lows approaching freezing, around 0–3°C (32–37°F).

As the temperature difference between day and night becomes more pronounced, layering becomes essential. Make sure to bring a warm coat, as well as hats, gloves, and scarves for the evenings.

In November, temperatures in South Korea continue to decrease, with cooler days and much colder nights, making it necessary to layer up even during the day. This month is known for its brisk, clear skies and relatively dry air, creating a crisp atmosphere that many find refreshing. However, mornings and evenings are noticeably cold, and a warm jacket is essential for comfort.

As the month progresses, Seoul's dawn temperatures can often hover near freezing, and the cold can feel sharper if there's a breeze. It's best to prepare with insulated layers, as November's weather can be beautiful but requires dressing for warmth, especially after sunset.

November in South Korea is ideal for layering clothes. Jackets are essential, with options ranging from regular short jackets to long coats, along with accessories like hats and scarves. These layers make it easy to stay comfortable in November’s variable temperatures, so you won’t have to worry about being too hot or too cold during your visit.

As for wearing a down jacket, it depends on personal preference. Generally, early November doesn’t require one, but by late November, as temperatures continue to drop, those sensitive to the cold may find a down jacket helpful.

Overall, November weather in South Korea isn’t the coldest, allowing for a good variety in outfit choices. Since most people don’t spend extended time outdoors, it’s best to wear layers that are easy to add or remove, topped with a slightly heavier coat for warmth when needed.

Things To Do in South Korea in November

1) Catch the last of the Fall Foliage Season in South Korea

In November, South Korea offers the chance to catch the last of the fall foliage, especially in the early part of the month when the leaves display warm hues of red, orange, and yellow. 2) Eat the freshest seafood!

November is the perfect time for seafood lovers to visit South Korea, as the colder waters bring peak flavors to seasonal catches like crabs, oysters, and clams. Many local seafood delicacies, including snow crab, the famous Jeju Island abalone, and Korea's favorite sashimi, halibut, are at their freshest and most flavorful in late fall.

For the freshest seafood experience in Seoul, tourists should head to Noryangjin Fish Market, one of Korea's largest and most popular seafood markets. At Noryangjin, you’ll find a vast selection of seasonal seafood, from live crabs and fish to oysters and octopus, sourced directly from Korea’s waters. Visitors can pick out their seafood on-site and have it prepared by nearby restaurants, making it an ideal spot to enjoy November’s peak flavors right after purchase.
