Late June-Early July is the beginning of monsoon season on the Korean peninsula. At this time of the year, heavy rainfall is expected daily with surprises of sunny days in between. In July, South Korea is fully immersed in its monsoon season, which typically begins in late June and can last until the end of July. This period is characterized by heavy and frequent rainfall, covering the country in a verdant lushness and offering a cooler reprieve from the intense summer heat.
Due to the heavy rainfall, it's crucial to wear water-resistant shoes or footwear that can protect your feet from getting wet. Locals often opt for waterproof slippers and rain boots. Additionally, you'll need to contend with high humidity, which can be quite challenging.

What perfect way to change up your look than a visit to the hair salon! We always recommend that people get their hair done when they are here because not only is it cheaper than the U.S. or Europe, Korean hairstylists are better informed on current and upcoming trends!
A haircut that includes shampoo and styling is only 33,000 KRW (33000), and a color transformation comes up to approximately 200,000 KRW (200000) without bleach! That might sound a bit pricey, but keep in mind that you do not need to tip your hairdresser in Korea.

Get the Climate Card, a transportation pass that grants you unlimited rides!
The Seoul city government launched the Climate Card earlier this year, to encourage people to ride public transportation in efforts to tackle climate change and traffic in Seoul. The original Climate Card offers unlimited subway, bus, and public bike rides for only 65,000 KRW (65000).
On July 1st, a version of this pass will be launched for tourists as well, offering unlimited access to public transportation during a selected number of days. Check out the fare for the passes in the table below:

The new Climate Card also grants you discounts to popular tourist attractions like Seoul Grand Park, Seoul Botanic Park, Lotte World Aquarium, Seoul Sky, and more!
Foreign tourists can purchase the Climate Card at the Seoul Tourism Plaza by Cheonggyecheon Stream or at the Myeongdong Tourist Information Center (check addresses below). (Other locations to be announced)
