A new study from Japan suggests a link between frequent ramen consumption and increased risk of early death, especially when the broth is consumed. The research, published in the Journal of Nutrition, Health and Ageing, tracked around 6,500 Yamagata residents' ramen eating habits and health outcomes over four and a half years. It found that men under 70 who ate ramen three or more times a week faced higher mortality risks. The study emphasizes the high sodium content in ramen, which could raise risks for diseases like stroke and stomach cancer. Although the study is observational and doesn't conclusively establish ramen as the cause of death, it advises limiting ramen consumption, particularly the broth.
