EMK's New Musical 'The Man in Hanbok' to Premiere in December

EMK Musical Company will bring a new original musical 'The Man in Hanbok' to the stage starting December 2 at Seoul's Chungmu Art Center. Based on Lee Seong-hoon's novel, the musical explores the mysterious death of Jang Yeong-sil, a prominent scientist of the Joseon Dynasty, who disappears from history after losing his government position. The work imagines a meeting between Jang and Leonardo Da Vinci and sets the story across Joseon (Korean historical kingdom) and European backgrounds, blending Renaissance elements. With a unique production featuring actors playing dual roles, and entirely crafted by Korean creatives, this musical promises to be a fusion of Korean tradition ('Hanbok' is traditional Korean clothing) and European aesthetics.
