Shiseido Group has made a groundbreaking discovery in collaboration with overseas research institutions, revealing that camellia seed fermented extract can enhance the role of memory T cells (CD4 CTL) in eliminating senescent cells linked to skin aging. These cells, which accumulate as a result of various stressors like UV exposure and aging, can lead to chronic inflammation and other skin issues like wrinkles and dark spots. The study found that the extract increases the expression of CXCL9, aiding T cells in targeting and removing these harmful cells, potentially preventing further skin damage. Additionally, the extract's impressive 14 amino acids content, enhanced using a unique Japanese fermentation method, is expected to play a significant role in advancing skin beauty and immune research.
