Cultural Heritage and Future Hope: Yoon Younghwa's 'Legacy-Sailing' Exhibition

The BongSan Cultural Center is hosting an intriguing exhibition titled 'Legacy-Sailing' by artist Yoon Younghwa in their Glass Box Art Star space until March 30. Yoon, inspired by a lifetime near the seas of Busan, presents his perspectives on life using the metaphor of sailing. Set in a space filled with salt reminiscent of sea foam, the exhibition features installation pieces like a boat catching light, row-like structures wrapped in bandages, and charred books. These elements represent the burdens of past, present struggles, and hopeful future. Visitors are encouraged to reflect on existential questions and life's journey. Yoon, who has studied extensively and taught in Korea, created this installation after surviving an accident that left him reliant on crutches—elements found within the exhibit. The exhibition also includes a participatory workshop on March 22.
