Korean-French artist Joseph Choi is holding his first solo museum exhibition at the Gyeongju Solgeo Museum of Art from August 16 to September 21. The exhibition, titled 'Layers of Memory, Perspectives Across Boundaries,' features 104 works, including 45 paintings, 58 drawings, and 1 digital media piece. Choi's art showcases the identity of a 'border person' formed between two cultures, with a unique style evolving from watercolors to drawings, pastels, and finally oils. His experimental approach to color balance is highlighted in the display. As a Korean artist who has lived in France for decades, Choi's work reflects the new perspectives and reconstructed identity arising from a life lived between cultures.
