South Korean artist John Bong Lee's solo exhibition 'Landscape Thief' is being held in Cheongpung Gallery, Gangneung until the end of the month. Featuring over 50 landscapes captured during his travels, the exhibition showcases scenes from South Korea's Sosu Seowon (a historic Confucian academy) to iconic international locations like Cambodia's Angkor Wat and Poland's Kraków. Notable are his impulsive red monochrome series sketched on napkins from eateries, depicting mountain ranges and cityscapes with expressive brushstrokes. A standout piece includes 'Dream of Aurora' from Yellowknife, Canada, displaying the Northern Lights in a dreamlike manner. The artist emphasizes capturing the joy of first encounters and unfamiliar smiles through color and memory.
