Increase in Pure Tourists Visiting Gangwon Province in the First Half of the Year

Gangwon Province in South Korea saw a 0.9% increase in total tourists, reaching 69.76 million in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. Pure tourists, excluding repeat visitors, rose by 1.3% to 25.29 million. This indicates a positive trend in attracting new visitors. However, total visitors in June decreased by 0.8% from the previous year. Gangwon Tourism Foundation aims to improve tourism sustainability through off-season content, Gen Z-focused marketing, and strategies to encourage return visits.
