A collection of 17 paintings by Wu Guanzhong, a pioneer of Chinese abstract art, are being displayed for the first time in Korea at the Seoul Calligraphy Art Museum. Wu's style combines elements of Eastern ink wash techniques with Western abstract influences, reminiscent of artists like Piet Mondrian. His life journey took him from studying electrical engineering in his native Jiangsu province to becoming an artist in Paris. Despite facing challenges during the Cultural Revolution, Wu Guanzhong's work later gained recognition as he established himself as a key figure in modern Chinese art. The exhibition runs until October 19, 2023, and is free to the public.
