The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of South Korea are collaborating to enhance the marine leisure tourism industry. As part of this initiative, they are investing 1.8 billion KRW to develop coastal cruise tourism. The focus is on activating tourism in six major cruise docking sites, including Busan and Yeosu. This effort aims to significantly increase tourist numbers, addressing population decline in coastal areas by promoting tourism as a solution. Additionally, MCST is working with the Ministry of Justice to expand medical tourism visas and collaborating with KORAIL for cycling tourism initiatives, linking biking with rail travel to create sustainable tourism models.
