Hawaii is emerging as a destination where art and culture can be deeply experienced beyond its reputation as a simple vacation spot. The Hawai‘i Triennial 2025 (HT25), held from February to May 2025, promises to make honeymoons more special with a major art festival featuring 49 global artists and organizations. The event simultaneously takes place across O’ahu, Hawai‘i Island, and Maui, interpreting Hawaii’s tradition and modern culture through contemporary art. Various public programs, including curator tours, artist lectures, film screenings, and performances, are offered for free during HT25.
Additionally, diverse cultural events continue till May, such as the Honolulu Festival in March, the Merrie Monarch Festival showcasing traditional Hawaiian hula in April, and the Hawai’i International Film Festival Spring Showcase. The Waikiki Spam Jam Festival in April adds a unique culinary experience.
Post-Triennial experiences at arts-oriented hotels like Outrigger Reef and ‘Alohilani Resort offer stays amidst traditional and modern Hawaiian art. Custom honeymoon packages with local travel agencies further enhance the art-themed Hawaiian experience.
