Gangwon Province Tops as Preferred Summer Destination

This summer, Gangwon Province is the top choice for vacationers in South Korea, with an increase in domestic travel plans over international ones, likely due to economic concerns. A survey by Lotte Members' research platform 'RHYME' revealed that 18.1% of respondents chose Gangwon, followed by Jeju Island (17.3%) and Busan (12.2%). A significant 52.7% of respondents plan to travel within Korea, a 17% rise from last year, while international travel plans decreased to 25.9%. Southeast Asia and Japan are popular for those going abroad. Expected expenditures range from 500,000 to 1,000,000 KRW domestically and 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 KRW abroad.
