Yun Sim-deok Reappears in Paris: A Play on Passion and Mystery

The play "The Hymn of Death" imagines a meeting in Paris between Korea's first female painter Na Hae-suk and the nation's first soprano Yun Sim-deok. The story includes the real-life affair and disappearance of Yun Sim-deok and writer Kim Woo-jin, both prominent figures of their time. Set in the 1920s, the play explores their controversial relationship, personal struggles, and the mystery surrounding their disappearance. The play incorporates historical whispers and presents a thought-provoking narrative on their choice to forsake everything for one another. Performances run until August 17 at the LG Arts Center in Seoul.
