Kangwon Land, a major casino and resort in South Korea, has started a trial run of a foreigners-only casino zone as part of the 'K-HIT Project' aimed at transforming into a global complex resort. This initiative follows a policy change from last September to attract more international tourists. The number of foreign visitors to their casino increased by 5.8% last year compared to the previous year. The new zone features significantly higher betting limits, increased from 100,000 KRW to 20 million KRW, providing competitive appeal.
Specialized services such as multilingual staff and a private atmosphere aim to enhance customer satisfaction. The trial will include gathering feedback from foreign customers, with plans to further raise betting limits up to 300 million KRW upon full launch. This initiative seeks to boost revenue, strengthen global competitiveness, and contribute to the local economy, particularly in post-mining areas.
