**KORAIL and Uljin Launch Tourist Train Service**
Uljin County, in partnership with KORAIL's Gangwon branch, has introduced a special travel package named "Our True Journey Prepared in Uljin" to boost local tourism amidst the summer season. This marks the first special train journey to Uljin since the opening of the Donghae Line, aiming to increase rail-connected tourism.
The package includes a one-day tour starting from Gangneung Station, visiting major attractions and traditional markets in Uljin, and featuring local seasonal meals. Notably, this inaugural tourist train experience is offered at an attractive price of just 10,000 KRW (approximately $8 USD). The itinerary includes both coastal and inland routes, promoting accessibility and the appeal of Uljin.
Reservations can be made through KORAIL Gangwon or affiliated travel agencies. The initiative is expected to strengthen the local economy and elevate the Uljin tourism brand.
Uljin's mayor, Son Byung-bok, expressed hopes that this product will become a new milestone in regional tourism, drawing more visitors to Uljin by train and supporting local economic growth.
