The city of Namyangju organized a cultural expedition with the first graduates from the Yeoyudang Citizen's Academy to visit heritage sites of Jeong Yak-yong, a prominent Korean scholar, from October 13 to 14. The participants, including Mayor Jo Kwang-deok and descendants of Jeong Yak-yong, visited historical sites in Gangjin, Jeollanam-do, where Jeong was exiled. This two-day program aimed to deepen understanding of Jeong Yak-yong's life and philosophy while promoting the Dasan Jeong Yak-yong brand. The event included visits to religious and historical sites, discussions for regional cooperation, and provided hands-on learning experiences reflecting the teachings from the citizen's academy. Namyangju plans to continue offering such educational programs to spread awareness of Jeong Yak-yong's legacy.
