Hupyeong Industrial Complex Transforms into Cultural Space with Interactive Exhibition

The Hupyeong General Industrial Complex in Chuncheon, South Korea, is being reimagined as a creative space that blends industry with culture, thanks to a collaborative initiation by Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and Gangwon Design Promotion Institute. The initiative, as part of the project 'Industrial Complex where Daily Life, Culture, and Design Meet', features an interactive art exhibition (RE:RULE) running until October 9. Visitors can engage in activities that reinterpret sports and games rules through interactive art, consisting of media art, sports content, graphic art, and worker relaxation spaces. Additionally, to enhance cultural engagement, the initiative offers one-day classes, cultural performances, and job training every Wednesday to employees during lunch breaks. Leaders hope this transformation will be a catalyst for more cultural infrastructure development in industrial zones.
