Seaside Crowds Surge in Gangwon Province Beaches

This past weekend, beaches and retreats in Gangwon Province in South Korea attracted nearly 187,000 visitors, marking a 10% increase from last year. The Gyeongpo Beach in Gangneung City was a popular destination with tens of thousands enjoying seaside activities under parasols. Meanwhile, major highways in the area experienced significant traffic congestion due to a larger number of vacationers returning home. Notably, six-car and seven-car pile-up accidents contributed to traffic jams.
