The Korean Ministry of Interior and Safety is promoting various local festivals and events to boost domestic tourism during the summer vacation season. From July to August, a total of 120 festivals are being organized by local governments across the country. Famous events include the Boryeong Mud Festival, where attendees can experience activities like self-massage using natural mud, and the Hongcheon Corn Festival featuring local produce. These festivals offer family-friendly events such as beach play zones and crafting activities. Additionally, to encourage local spending, some events provide benefits like regional gift certificates and ticket discounts. Measures are also being taken to keep summer vacation expenses affordable through local and private sector cooperation.
