Mixology, the art of mixing various beverages and ingredients with alcohol, is gaining popularity in South Korea, particularly at convenience stores. The mixology alcohol market saw a 74.2% increase in sales, reaching 650 billion won, in one year. Notably, the trend is spreading beyond young consumers to include older generations, with the 50s and 60s age groups showing significant growth in purchasing mixology products. New products like 'wineball' (a mix of wine and tonic water) and 'mockski' (a combination of makgeolli, a traditional Korean rice wine, and whiskey) are being introduced, expanding consumer choices. High-quality items like malt whiskey-based highballs are also emerging, intensifying market competition.
